How Does Yoga Help Physiotherapy?
There are two schools of thought when it comes to combining Physio and Yoga;
- Some will embrace Yoga and Physiotherapy
- Other will negate Yoga as a worthwhile practice
But which is more appropriate for meeting your needs?
For myself as a Physiotherapist, I’ve experienced both sides of the coin. I’ve seen some great benefits from combining yoga and physiotherapy treatment – especially for reducing neural tissue sensitisation and myofascial limitation. However on the other hand, I’ve also seen some patients who have tried yoga and sustained injuries because of poor technique and a lack of knowledge.
